It looks as if I have a new family member: Scarlett! :D
At around 9:15 AM of yesterday, December 25th, 2011 (Christmas morning), I unwrapped a pink flowery pony halter. I literally started crying as I was squealing with joy - at that minute, I knew that Scarlett was mine! ♥

My Grandma took me out to the barn to go ride, and my Dad met us out there after going to his office for a little bit. He took some videos of us, which I made a new YouTube video with my new editing system, Adobe Premiere Elements 10. I do apologize for the crappy editing, but I was in a hurry to make it within 10 minutes, ha. I had the most amazing day yesterday, and it wouldn’t have been possible without my perfect parents or my trainer. But more importantly, it wouldn’t have been possible with God! =]

I MISS YOU MOREE, RILEYYY! D:

When are gonna chillll!?

[H e y] Now!

Hey now.
It’s been some time since I’ve actually updated you all! I’ll start off with Lily…

Lily has been just a saint. She’s had four days undersaddle now, and they’ve all been wonderful. On our first day undersaddle, we trotted - on our own! :D She was just so..perfect. <3 I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first time. Second day, we practiced some more figure eights at the walk (we did this the first day as well), going full laps at the trot in both directions, and we also worked on our ‘Woah means stop”. She was so good! =]
Umm, third day! We had our first little ‘baby moment’. xD It was somewhat windy out, and this tarp that was outside (which had bricks all around it, so it couldn’t blow away) blew upwards and started flapping around. Naturally, with Lily being only three years old, she spooked and took off bucking. It caught me by surprise at first, but by the end of her little rampage, as with most horses/ponies, I was laughing! x]]]
Fourth day was great! We rode inside for the first time AND we rode with another horse in the arena for the first time, as well! Lily was so good; she just did her work as told. We worked on circles the trot that day, too! :D Boy, I love that maree. =]]

Time for a Rhythm update, YAY!
My gosh..where do I even BEGIN? Hmm. Let’s start with our last show! It was Traders Point Hunt Charity Horse Show. We showed in the Baby Greens there last year since he was only four years old then. This year, now that he’s five, we decided to skip out of the Pre-Greens because of the political issues in that class (at this show, there would be noo way that the judges would EVER place a teenager over a bunch of trainers, whether we rode better or not - even though we placed extremely well in the Baby Greens classes last year, Pre-Greens is a whole different story). So instead, we showed in the Children’s Hunters. Yeah, we did good! BUT.. Rhythm was so bored with those fences to the point where he started to dangle his knees. =\ Rhythm is the type of horse that when he gets bored with fences, he started hanging his knees over the jumps or even starts to buck at times. So, with that being said, my trainer said that we’re ready to move up to the 3’6” stuff possibly higher.
Wanna know the cool part, though? The 3’6” will be… THE MACLAY! Yesss, that is right! Next year we are shooting for the Maclay! :O Hehehe, I’m so effing excited! ;D

Anyways, that’s all for now. =]

Lights, Camera, Fashion!

Hi guys! :)

I admit it…
I, Mady, am in love with…
Fashion! =]

I don’t know if it’s because my Mom used to be a Fashion Designer? Okay, well, she kind of still is; she retired from Reebok a longgg time ago (like, when I was 4), but now that they want her to come back, she’s what one might call ‘semi-retired’. Or maybe it’s because I hated almost everything that had to do with clothes for such a long when I was younger, that I’ve found a new passion for them?
Hmm. I honestly can’t say that I know why. But what I do know, is that I have set up a new blog - just for style and fashion! I’m even going to start showing you guys some of my makeup tips! Just click here to find out what it’s all about!

Lights, Camera, Fashionnn! :)

This was what I spent most of my morning from yesterday doing. :)I was so proud, heheh!
Of course.. When I go to upload the awesome background on YouTube, the damn thing doesn’t fit! It’s too wide. ARRRGHHHH. :||||

Q
I'm 20 years old and really want to get into horseback riding! I'm not quite sure if I want to do English or Western yet though. I was just wondering if you'd recommend one or the other? I don't think I'm looking to do shows or anything like that because I don't really have the time or money, but I've always been fascinated by horses and really want to give it a shot! Also, is 20 too old to start? I feel like there's so much I don't know! Haha. :)

That’s great you want to get into horseback riding - good for you! =]
As far as English vs. Western goes; it all depends upon what you want to do really. Do you dream of jumping or doing dressage? Or are you more interested in barrel racing or western pleasure? Both disciplines have their ups and downs. Both also have their pleasure riding as well as competitive riding - they also have slower paced varieties and faster paced varieties. If you could let me know about your interests, that’d make it a bit easier for me to recommend english or western to you!
Personally, if it were me, I’d start out English - Dressage, specifically. I’d do this because Dressage if faarrrr harder than jumping, and it also teaches you things that are rather important in your riding, right off the bat, instead of jumping. It would make it a lot easier on you to learn the tough things (such as developing a good seat, which will help you sososo much when it comes to jumping [or even barrel racing!]) first, than to put them aside for now. One mistake I made with my first two trainers. :|||
Even if you don’t want to jump, dressage is a GREAT foundation for all types of riding. And if you decide you don’t like dressage, or maybe even english riding in general, you can always switch to western, which making a switch from english to western is quite a bit easier than western to english, so I’ve been told.

Also, it’s never too late to start riding! While, yes, the younger the better, if you really take the time and dedication into the sport, you can do just as well as someone who started from the age of 9 or 10. Best wishes, and good luck! =D
